Thomas Reichert – freelance stage director

  • Studied stage direction at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich
  • From 1976: first productions at Schauspiel Frankfurt (Peter Palitzsch)
  • Further stages including Bremen, Freiburg, Schiller-Theater Berlin, Schauspielhaus Zurich, Vereinigte Bühnen Graz
  • 1989: appointed stage director and artistic director at Schauspiel Hannover
  • 1993: appointed stage director and artistic director at the Residenztheater, Munich
  • 1996: collaboration as dramaturge and actor in Bildbeschreibung by Heiner Müller at the Weimar Art Festival
  • Since 2004: regular guest stage director in the Kabinetttheater, Vienna with music theatre productions combining singing, acting and puppets.
  • Major co-productions with orchestras, e.g. Mauricio Kagel's KANTRIMIUSIK in the Vienna Konzerthaus with the PHACE Ensemble (2013 ) or ORFEO ED EURIDICE (Parma version) at the Styriarte in Graz and the International Gluck Opera Festival in the Markgrafentheater, Erlangen, with the recreationBAROCK ensemble under conductor Michael Hofstetter (2016 )
  • Salzburg Festival (2006 and 2007): at the Salzburg Marionette Theatre, Mozart's Bastien and Bastienne together with The Impresario: with singers, marionettes, an actor, and the Junge Philharmonie Salzburg
