Two people set off, carrying voices and texts in their luggage. Six stories, four fragments and a letter. Weathered paper, folded thoughts, torn desires.
A poetic journey in the footsteps of Franz Kafka, with characters and found objects, luggage and riff-raff.
German puppeteer and director Frank Soehnle founded the independent touring theatre company figuren theater tübingen with Karin Ersching in 1991. Since then, he has toured internationally with solo and ensemble productions. The production kafkabagage was created in 2024 to mark the centenary of Franz Kafka’s death, and invites audiences on a journey through his literature, whose visions of the 1920s reveal echoes of the fears and absurdities of our own time.
