A snapshot in time, in which the marionette responds to the shifting moods of its surroundings.
Based on a story by Samuel Beckett, Milieu depicts a situation that is both playful and metaphysical.
Renaud Herbin trained as a puppeteer at the École Supérieure Nationale des Arts de la Marionnette in Charleville-Mézières. With his newly founded company L’Étendue, he has created numerous productions, most of them based on poetic or literary works. In these, he transcends the boundaries between working with materials and puppetry, bringing them into dialogue with choreography and the visual arts.
